They're back! Small-Group College Essay Workshops



UC and Common App Essays: write distinctive, personalized UC and Common App essays in our hands-on, two-day curricular program where you’ll learn successful writing techniques to make your essays stand out.  We’ll review successful UC and Common App essays, brainstorm topics, engage in hands-on writing activities, and receive personalized feedback in a supportive, small-group environment. Location: Lafayette Library, Study Rooms.  Enrollment is limited to 6.    For individual college counseling/essay guidance outside of class, a reduced rate is available for workshop students. Each separate workshop consists of two consecutive Sundays, 1-3pm (total of 4 hrs).  $350.  Workshops may be repeated for students who need to submit multiple essays.

Liz La Porte is an experienced college counselor and credentialed high school English teacher. After graduating from Acalanes High School, she attended Swarthmore College and UC Berkeley, teaching high school English for over ten years.
